In our context of referral programs:
Referrer (brand advocate or ambassador): is an individual who actively refers or recommends another person, such as their friends, family, and acquaintances, to a particular brand or product. In the context of a store, a referrer must be an existing customer of that store. This means that once a user registers and/or makes a purchase at the store, they have the opportunity to become a referrer and refer others to the store. A referrer is therefore a customer of the store.
Referrer/customer email: an email that belongs to the registered customer in the store.
Referee (Friend): The person who receives an invitation or recommendation from someone else to engage with a particular referral. In the context of a store, a referee/friend is an unregistered user who is not yet a customer of the shop.
Referral reward: The generated discount code can only be used by the referrer who has been rewarded.
Invite link: The URL link that adds a referral discount code to the checkout. The referral discount code only applies to new unregistered users.
If your email is already registered in the store and set on the checkout page, the invitation link will not work.
Referral programs: are specialized programs that outline rules and guidelines for both referrers and referees. These programs are specifically designed to incentivize existing customers to assist businesses in finding new customers.
Reward usage rules: these are the rules that govern the use of rewards. For example, only the referrer himself can use his own reward discount code.
The number of times he can use the reward discount code depends on how many times his referral code has been used by his friends.
